Located in Main Library’s Louis Stokes Wing the Learning Commons offers a flexible meeting and event space with attractive furnishings and advanced technological capabilities. This inviting, collaborative space is the perfect venue for a wide variety of meetings and events ranging from training sessions and conferences to business networking events and more.

Operating hours at the Main Library are Monday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. The Learning Commons is also available outside regular Library hours for a fee. Please read the Policy on Facility Use and Fines and Fees for additional information.
MAKING A RESERVATION
All reservations are subject to approval. Reservations are made on a first-come, first-serve basis and should be placed at least ten days in advance. To reserve space in the Learning Commons, read the Policy on Facility Use and Fines and Fees prior to submitting an application to reserve a Library meeting room (pdf) Please note that your reservations are not complete until you receive a confirmation from the Library’s Outreach and Programming Services staff.

AVAILABLE FACILITIES
Requests and arrangements for specific and/or special room setups and/or equipment are subject to availability and must be made at least ten days prior to the event. The Library may offer the following setup options, depending upon the space: classroom seating (tables and chairs) or auditorium seating (podium with chairs facing front, no tables). Additional fees may apply for use of any library spaces if food is served or if A/V, security or other library staff are required.
Garden Window Area: This space includes the open area of the Learning Commons near the windows overlooking the Eastman Reading Garden. Capacity: Up to 150 people, depending upon configuration. Cost: If used during Library hours, there is no charge for the Garden Window Area. Staffing costs apply if used before Library hours, and a $2,500 fee applies for use after Library hours.
Other Spaces: In addition to the Learning Commons on the second floor, other meeting and event spaces in the Louis Stokes Wing include the Indoor Reading Garden or Louis Stokes Legacy Conference Room on the first floor, the Auditorium and lobby on the lower level and the outdoor Eastman Reading Garden.
