CLEVNET is pleased to announce the hire of Jamie L. Mason as its new Director. Mason started his new position on Monday, January 3, 2023.
CLEVNET has 47 member libraries and operates in 12 counties. As director of CLEVNET, Mason will oversee the strategic direction and the day-to-day management of the integrated library system, eMedia, and library databases. “It is a privilege and honor to lead CLEVNET and amplify the messages of our member libraries and the importance of our collaboration,” said Jamie L. Mason, Director of CLEVNET.
Mason comes to CLEVNET from Rocky River Public Library where he served as Director for 8 years and Deputy Director for 5 years. Before that, he was Technology Manager at Avon Lake Public Library and a technology consultant for several libraries in Lorain County. Since Rocky River Public Library joined CLEVNET in 2017, Mason previously served on the Executive Directors’ Panel and as Chair of the Executive Panel until his appointment to Director of CLEVNET.
For 40 years, CLEVNET has demonstrated the power of cooperation and shared expertise by connecting Northeast Ohio users to a collection of shared materials and research far greater than individual member libraries could provide alone.
“I look forward to strengthening the bond between CLEVNET and the state of Ohio,”
adds Mason. “In a climate where politicians are constantly looking at how government institutions and resources should be consolidated, CLEVNET stands out as the standard and the example for cooperation.”
Mason graduated from Kent State University, earning a Master of Library Information Science. He also attended Cleveland State University’s Leadership Academy and Public Management Academy. Mason has served on the Rocky River City Schools Curriculum Advisory Board, the Ohio Public Library Information Network Board and was American Library Association Chapter Liaison for Ohio Library Council.
